2015 is already flying by, which means the deadline for FCC 477 will be here before we know it.
Filings for data as of December 31, 2014 are due March 1, 2015.
Your accounting software may report the Census Tract that each of your current customers reside in, but typically not the entire list of Census Blocks that you can provide service to the home.
Note: Some services are offering to generate the census block lists based on subscriber addresses. This can be misleading as you might not have subscribers in all of the census blocks to which you provide service.
MarketBroadband.com provides you with a csv file of ALL of the census blocks that you CAN service. THIS IS REQUIRED! But that is not a problem, because it is low cost and easy.
MarketBroadband.com will take your broadband signal kml or shapefile and map and identify the census tracts and the census blocks that are associated with your signal. We then provide you with a txt or csv file that you upload to the FCC – per their requirements.
Here are three ways to contact us if you need help identifying and listing the census blocks that are associated with your broadband signal:
• Call us at 800-792-8812
• Email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
What Are the Penalties that Apply?
Companies are reminded that failure to comply with the Form 477 reporting requirements may subject them to monetary forfeitures of up to $150,000 for each violation or each day of a continuing violation, up to a maximum of $1,500,000 (FCC Bulletin DA 11-1992).
It ain’t pretty but there you have it.
We are here to help you.
